Tyga is receiving a lot of attention from Vietnamese audiences after collaborating with Son Tung M-TP in the music video " Come My Way, " released on the evening of May 28th. The song was co-written by Son Tung and producer Marvey Muzique, with lyrics by Marvey Muzique and Tyga. In the music video, which combines a modern feel with many Vietnamese cultural elements, Tyga appears with Son Tung for about 30 seconds, rapping in English as a message to the girl he is attracted to. The music video has attracted over 11 million views after about 20 hours of release.
Tyga's appearance in Son Tung's new music video not only drew attention because of the rapper's international fame but also because the star is of Vietnamese descent. Tyga (real name: Michael Ray Stevenson) was born in 1989 in the United States to a family of Jamaican and Vietnamese descent. His mother, Pasionaye Nicole Nguyen, was revealed to have been born in Vietnam. In February 2025, the artist announced on his personal page that his mother had passed away. He shared many pictures of his mother and expressed: "Mom was the best and most supportive person in my life. She always made things better when I felt at my lowest point. I would trade anything just to be with her again."
