Hanoi [Vietnam], March 13: Veteran actor Zheng Shaoqiu, 78, has largely disappeared from public view in recent years, following the death of his eldest daughter in 2023.
The Standard newspaper previously reported that Zheng Shao Qiu 's eldest daughter , Zheng An Yi, was found dead at her home in Southern California at the age of 55. An Yi was his daughter with his first wife, Lu Hui Ru, a former classmate of the actor.
Due to legal restrictions at the time, Zheng Shaoqiu was reportedly unable to attend his daughter's funeral in person. According to media reports, the event caused him immense grief and torment for a long time.
According to Zaobao , the actor's current wife, Guan Jinghua, also shared that the shock of losing their daughter deeply affected his mental state. After this tragedy, he almost completely withdrew from public activities and limited contact with many friends in the industry.
In an interview in 2025, veteran actress Wang Mingquan, a close friend of the actor, said that she had rarely been in contact with him recently. According to her, this may stem from a desire for solitude to overcome personal grief.
